2024 FCCLA State Competition Results

Congratulations to the FCCLA members who competed at the State FCCLA Conference on April 25-26.  Twelve students competed and nine qualified to attend the National FCCLA Conference in Seattle, Washington this summer.
  • Chloe Griggs received 1st place and qualified for Nationals in Interior Design

  • Celeste Carruth, Kaitlyn Mongold, and Lydia Valentine received 1st place and qualified for Nationals in Chapter in Review Portfolio.

  • Kayle Emswiler and Gracie Hedges received 2nd place and qualified for Nationals in Chapter in Review Display 

  • Lilian Bates, Xaley Bojanowski, and Saraya Short received 2nd place and qualified for Nationals In Interpersonal Communications

  • Kayleigh Grimm competed in Fashion Design and earned 4th place

  • Jillian Starner and Layla Williams competed in Interpersonal Communications and earned 5th placeFCCLA State Competition Results Slide

FCCLA @ Regional Competition - 2024

Members of the Fairfield Union FCCLA attended the 2024 Regional Competition on March 16 at Mid-East Career Center.

2024 Hat Project

Members of the FCCLA and Family Consumer Science class helped sew baby hats which were donated to Fairfield Medical Center in March.

Maywood Mission Project 2024

FCCLA members raised funds then shopped and donated items to Maywood Mission's Easter Basket project in which they will donate 400 baskets to those in need of assistance.

Sale Dates - January 25, 2024-February 12, 2024
$23 per flat - 1 flat contains 8 pints (approx. 8-9 lbs)
Orders must be placed through Local Level Events (on-line ordering and payment system) at:  https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/24862 or go to the Local Level Events Website at
https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/home and type in “43130” for City and “strawberry” or “Fairfield Union” in key words.
Please make sure you state the FCCLA member/FCS student (this would be a high school student in grades 9-12) you purchased from so they get credit for the sale.  
Delivery will be week of February 26, 2024-March 1, 2024

2023 State FCCLA Qualifiers

2023 FCCLA Week

During FCCLA Week, members conducted a drive for hygiene and cleaning products to be donate to Faith Mission of Fairfield County.  Students collected around 100 items to help those in need.  FCCLA member, Brady Mason, brought in the most items.  This project was headed up by Bree Tharp, Jillian Starner, and Layla Williams.

2022 FCCLA Food Drive

FCCLA conducted a food drive at the high school in December which benefits the Bremen Food Pantry.  Students collected over 1000 items which will benefit local families.  The top 5 homeroom classes for bringing in the most times and winners of the pizza party are Mr. Thompson's, Mr. Baker's, Mr. Vivian's, Mrs. Toler's, and Mr. Montgomery's classes.   Thank you to all students, parents, and staff who donated to this annual drive.

FCS Cupcake Project 2022

The Family and Consumer Sciences Culinary students participated in a cupcake war lab in December.  All of the students did an amazing job with this assignment.  The winners in each class earned a prize.  The winning groups were The Grinch and Cookie Monster Cupcakes.  Click more+ for photos of the entries and winners.

2022 FCCLA Service Project

Recently the Family and Consumer Sciences Department, Child Development and Career and College Readiness classes participated in a service project in which they baked holiday cut-out cookies and made cookie decorating kits for The Gift of Time event held at Lancaster High School and sponsored by the Fairfield County Early Childhood Association.

2022 National FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference

FCS Child Development students @ Pleasantville Elementary

In December, some members of the FCS Child Development class visited the Kindergarten classrooms at Pleasantville Elementary and helped the teachers with various tasks.  This was an opportunity for the students at the high school to work with and observe younger children.
