12th Annual Kids Heart Challenge

Students at Bremen and Pleasantville Elementaries are kicking off the 12th Annual Kids Heart Challenge in Mrs. Valesko's class.  Many young people are finding it harder than ever to stay active and eat better.  KHC's service learning approach is so relevant right now, and a great way to continue helping all of us recommit to living the healthiest lives possible!  While we are helping our students feel good by doing good, we are supporting the American Heart Association's important mission.  Families who participate can feel great knowing that they have helped people with special hearts, including children born with congenital heart defects, by supporting the Association's work to fund critically needed scientific advances, community health initiatives, and educational programs.  Read on for full details:

Free Parenting Workshops

The Fairfield County Family, Adult & Children First Council is providing free parenting workshops.

Parents, Stay Positive! Thursdays, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Lancaster YMCA, February 3, 10, 17 24 and March 24
YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS BY JANUARY 28

The following Positive Parenting Workshops are held in person at The Agricutlure Center 831 College Avenue, Lancaster:

Dealing with Disobedience - Tuesday, January 18 - 6-8 p.m.
Developing Good Bedtime Routines - Tuesday, January 25 - 6-8 p.m.
Managing Fighting and Agression - Tuesday, February 1 - 6-8 p.m.
Hassle-Free Outings with Children - Thursday, February 10 - 6-8 p.m.

Kindergarten Registration

Parents of children who will be going to Kindergarten at Pleasantville Elementary during the 2022-2023 school year may begin the registration process by completing the OneView online registration forms.  You will need to create an account and make sure to pick the next school year 2022-2023 and KG as the grade.  (If you have another child already registered at Fairfield Union, you will log into your current account and add a new student for your Kindergartner.)  The link is:  https://fairfieldunion.esvportal.com/

Parents/Guardians are asked to call (740.468.2181) or stop by our school office to set up an appointment time for testing their child/children.  

 

 REGISTRATION

February 14th thru March 25th

 

TESTING

April 4th  - April 7th

  

Children who will be five on or before August 1, 2022 may enter Kindergarten this coming year.

  

Parents are asked to bring their child’s original birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency (current utility bill AND proof of mortgage/rental agreement OR notarized form), custodial papers (if applicable) along with a parent/guardian photo ID to the school prior to testing.  


A meeting at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 31st will be held in the Pleasantville School cafetorium for parents of 2022-2023 Kindergarten students.  An explanation of our Kindergarten program and the testing procedure will be given as well as being able to meet the teachers.
