Career Center Spotlight - February 2024

Owen Troxel is a junior at Fairfield Union High School who attends the Eastland campus of Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools. On February 8, he was the student program representative chosen to speak at the Associate School Counselor and Special Education Meeting. Owen explained his lab experience and how he is learning to apply robotics programming and engineering to real-world scenarios that he will encounter in his future career. When asked why Owen chose this career path, he responded, "I was part of the Robotics Club in middle school. It was very interesting to me and when I came to visit Eastland during my sophomore tour, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I plan to go on to college and study in the field." FUHS is proud of Owen and his strong performance and dedication to his lab and in his academic classrooms.

The Robotics program at Eastland Career Center is a new program for students this school year. This program prepares students to lead the way in a world of evolving professions with the hybrid of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. Professionals entering these fields are creating smart, innovative robotic machines that contribute to industries such as manufacturing, mining, aviation, and transport.
