I hope this letter finds you all well and safe. My name is Matthew Gregory and I will be the next head choir director and assistant marching band director at Fairfield Union High School and Middle School. I am very excited to be working with you and your child this coming year. I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate teacher who strongly believes in music being vital to the academic curriculum.
I received my music education degree from The Ohio State University and I was heavily involved on OSU’s campus in the 5 years I was there. I was a part of The Ohio State University Marching Band, the Symphonic Choir, the Symphonic Band, the Men’s Glee Club, as well as a smaller competitive a cappella group. These organizations were perhaps some of the best decisions I have ever made, as they helped challenge me musically and taught me the true impact and importance of music education in the curriculum. I will use the knowledge I have gained at OSU to help build on your child’s vocal and instrumental abilities.
I know and realize that Covid-19 put a damper on academic and musical experiences last year, but I am excited and eager to get back into the classroom and do all I can to assist your child in their musical growth. There is a lot of unknown right now, but I am working incredibly hard to make sure your child will have the best choral and instrumental experiences possible for the coming year.
