The Fairfield Union Local School District and Performing Arts Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Jared Kitchen. Jared will be taking on the role of High School Band Director. His duties will include Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, as well as 7th and 8th Grade Bands. Jared is from Granville Ohio and just graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education plus a minor in Conducting. During Jared's time at Ohio University, he has been a member of the school's top ensembles such as the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble 1. Jared has also founded multiple chamber ensembles including a brass quintet, brass choir, and trombone quartet. Jared marched for four years in the Ohio University Marching 110 and is very excited to add more of that style and work ethic to the Fairfield Union Marching Falcons! Jared is ecstatic to be a member of this community and is thankful for the warm welcome he has received from students and faculty! It is Jared's goal to provide every student with meaningful learning experiences, leadership opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime.

It's that time of year to get incoming 5th graders signed up for band! We will be sending home more information in the coming weeks in with more information about the band. At the end of May, we are offering an opportunity for the kids to try out the instruments to decide what they want to play. However, soon you will be receiving scheduling materials from Mr. Funk (the RMS Guidance Counselor). If your student is interested in joining band they just need to make sure they "check" band on those forms.
